New Best Birkie Story
OK – I told you about the time I went and ground skis all night for two days before the Birkie. Did I ever tell you about the one where I got to wax two winners? Wow – that was fun! I’ve just returned from waxing skis for a handful of Salomon-supported athletes, including Tad […]

Birkie-bound, and Birkie Redux
I have booked a ticket to fly out to the Midwest for the Birkie. I’ll be leaving Wednesday, and my primary purpose in making this trip is to support Tad Elliott. Tad is known to most folks in the ski world. He’s a USST B-team member and he scored his first World Cup points this […]

Mid-Winter Update 2 – General Impressions
Bad-Winter Notes & Impressions This winter has been marked by some of the worst snow conditions in memory, nationwide. We’ll be out of the shop this weekend through Wednesday, February 1st. We’re going to the SIA show, and far as the tax people are concerned. I’m thinking it’s a little more of a family vacation. There is a long list of updates due here, including write-ups from both Tour de Ski and Nationals. But […]

VIDEO: Fluoro Application & Star 180 degree Iron
Back in December I convinced Erik Johnson at Jenex to place a limited order for custom-built 180-degree Star digital irons. At the 2010 Olympics the Star guys rented my house in Squamish, and I lived there with them during the games. At the end of the games they had a handful of extra 110 volt […]

Paddy Caldwell is Fast!
Paddy had his best race of the season last year on the J1 Scando Cup. Today he showed his big-race pedigree again with a 5th place in the sprint at the Youth Olympics in Seefeld. Big congratulations to Paddy – we’re so proud (but not as proud as his dad)!
